Book MBV Kawasaki Z series since 1972

With the Z 900, which caused a sensation at the IFMA 1972, Kawasaki made it to the big four. Ever more stringent exhaust emission regulations, which require immense compromises for a two-stroke engine, had put it out of fashion. Since 1967, the technicians in Akashi had been working on the four-cylinder engine, but had postponed the planned series production start after the CB 750 premiere and raised the capacity bar. The 900 Z1 established Kawasaki`s reputation as a manufacturer of sporty, powerful four-cylinder engines and miserable chassis. The Ur-Z is now history, but the series had many more branches and is still part of the brand DNA of the Japanese manufacturer.
